Residential Care
Our Residential Care is designed for elderly people who find it increasingly difficult to manage at home without additional help and support. The main aim of our professional team of care staff at Spencer House Care Home is to ensure that each one of our residents enjoys a fulfilling lifestyle tailored to their specific individual needs.
Provided by trained carers, residential care offers assistance with everyday activities, such as washing, dressing, eating and mobility. Our residents can be comfortable and confident in the knowledge that these areas of their life won’t be a struggle, so they can get on doing the things they love.
Life the way you want it
We are here for you – which is why we will do everything we can to make sure you’re happy, comfortable and cared for. From activities and morning coffee, to mealtimes and days out we are always happy to go that extra mile.
A warm welcome
We encourage relatives to bring in personal items to make your room look more like home for when you arrive. If possible we suggest visiting for the day to give you more of an idea of what to expect. You’ll be introduced to all the key staff Members and given a full tour of the home.
When you arrive at our home, you might be feeling overwhelmed and anxious. We will do everything we can to help you settle in. Prior to your arrival we will learn a bit about you so we will have an idea who you might get along with.
Dementia and Alzheimer's Care
Focusing on strengths
For those living with dementia and alzheimer, communicating their needs and wishes can be difficult, which in turn can lead to isolation. Our dementia care programme focuses on an individual’s strengths to help find ways in which they can re-engage with their families, friends and the community.
First rate and up to date
Our care in these areas has been developed by specialists, and is constantly updated to reflect findings from the latest research. Members of staff undergo bespoke training courses to ensure that they understand the various forms of these illnesses and how it can affect each individual.
We gain an insight into residents’ life stories through recollections, reminiscence and sensory-based activities and community involvement, and provide the best beneficial therapies and treatments.
All of our activities are person-centred. Our activity coordinator works individually with each resident to make sure there are activitivities tailored to their needs and interests.
